About Us

Kaamasen Kaira is a locally owned, private, nature adventure outfitters located in the Sámi village of Kaamanen, in the province of Lapland, Finland. Inari is 28 km South and the Arctic Ocean is a 1.5 hrs drive North along Highway E4. The Finnish - Norwegian boarder of Karigasniemi is only 70 km NW.

Kaamasen Kaira's goal is to take people outdoors beyond the beaten tracks. We will share with you the beauty of nature: crystal clear lakes and rivers, northern lights, reindeer, Arctic vegetation, midnight sun, wild berries and mushrooms, hiking trails, and freshly caught trout, whitefish, perch, and pike. A small selection of locally produced Sámi handicrafts, Jaskapunalohi, are available for purchase from our guides.

Fully guided wilderness adventures are operated year round. Trips are custom tailored to the needs of small groups and families.

Wilderness guides are experienced in snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, nature discovery, Sámi culture, camping, and wilderness first-aid. An Arctic biologist specialized in reindeer husbandry is available to answer your scientific questions.
