Siida

A day trip to Inari to visit Siida, the Sámi Museum and Northern Lapland Visitor Centre, is highly recommended. Here you can learn about life in the northern landscape, the fascinating culture, history, and language of the Sámi people, and world-class Sámi handicrafts made of reindeer leather and fur, fish leather, curly birch burls, and reindeer antler. The Siida gift shop has an excellent selection of books, cd's, dvd's, maps, souvenirs, handicrafts, clothing, and music. Shopping Trip

Inari is a unique village home to the Sámi Education Centre, Siida, Sámi Duodji Handicrafts, upcoming Sámi Cultural Centre, and the boat habour. Give yourself a full day to visit each merchant and to enjoy a picnic lunch on the shores of Lake Inari.
